Intermediate Designer

We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated and passionate candidate to join the Mint Décor Team. This is not your typical office; We are a close-knit team that is known for working collaboratively with each other and providing a very personalized level of service to each project. We are hiring a Designer who is dedicated to helping make Mint Décor the best it can be. A Designer must be highly organized and meticulous, love design, a natural networker, and a problem solver.

Responsibilities

● Assist and support Principal Designer with daily tasks both on job sites and in-office.

● Source products and materials as required for specific projects.

● Draft floor plans, complete space planning and 3D renderings

● Collaborate with Operations Manager to complete orders and manage day to day tasks in the office.

● Place orders for products and materials (furniture, wallpaper, lighting, decor etc.), follow up on orders, coordinate large

number of deliveries to job sites. This duty is in cooperation with the Operations Manager

● Source and install styling items.

● Prepare correspondence, documentation, and presentation materials for clients and vendors. Training will be provided, and the Designer will be expected to perform these duties successfully during a 3-month probationary period.

Technical Qualifications

● Design software experience required: Revit, Chief Architect or similar.

● Design project management software knowledge required, such as Design Docs, StudioDesigner, or similar.

● Must have excellent working knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs, MS Word and Excel.

● Excellent working knowledge of Gmail & Gmail best practices

● Knowledge of basic accounting principles and systems is an asset.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education/Experience Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Interior Design, Interior Decorating or related field required.

● Minimum 5 years prior experience in a similar role

● Must have comfortable level of skill in working with small business pricing; discounts, taxes, margins, commission percentages, etc.

● Highly organized multitasker who works well both independently and as a team.

Other Requirements

● Must have a reliable vehicle & driver’ licence.

Time Commitment & Location

The Design Assistant will carry out the above responsibilities in the office of Mint Décor, at various client sites, wholesale and retail vendors within the GTA, as well as from home or a location of their choice.

Office Location:

The Mint Décor office is currently located within a private studio at The Collective Workspace, 14 Leswyn Rd, North York. The office includes parking, access to a dedicated bathroom, and kitchen.

Schedule:

38 hrs week, Monday – Thursday, 9am-5pm, Friday 9am – 3pm.

Compensation

Base salary is $66,000 -$76,000 dependent on background and experience.
